What advice would you give a prospective med student?

As with anything in life, try your best and everything will eventually work out. Rest in the fact that your education has prepared you for medical school. Take each week by week, and make sure you take some time to enjoy yourself! Medical training is truly a marathon.

Why did you choose Long School of Medicine?

I chose Long School of Medicine, because of the collaborative and supportive environment that the school fosters. Everyone is out there looking after each other. San Antonio is also a hidden gem in Texas – it truly has all the aspects of a big city while still having a small town vibe. I also enjoyed the early clinical exposure through student-faculty collaborative practices, community service learning projects, preceptorships, and the abundance of volunteer opportunities through the school.

Using 3 words, how would you describe the Long School of Medicine? Why?

Supportive, diverse, passionate.

I feel truly lucky to be attending Long School of Medicine. The faculty are always looking after their students. The faculty are approachable and eager to teach. The students come from all walks of life and I am proud to call them my future colleagues.
